Paintings - Sail: White Heather

A scene depicting the last great days of pre-war yachting, with the legendary schooner Westward in the background.

Both gaff rigged, they were soon to be rendered obsolete by the "J" class.

Although sail can be over romanticised, there can have been few sights at sea as exhilarating as this.
