Blue Funnel Line "M" class cargo liner MENELAUS

Built by Caledon Shipbuilding and Engineering at Dundee, her sisters were; MENSTHEUS; MACHAON; MEMNON; MELAMPUS and MARON.

Their design represented a link between the "A" and the "Glenlyon" classes, both of which appear in this series.

When the far east trades were unitised in the early nineteen seventies several "M" class ships were transferred to
Elder Dempster Line service; MENELAUS thus sailed as MANO, from 1972 - 1977.

She is portrayed as built, pounding into a heavy sea off Indonesia.
