Glen Line "Glenearn" class cargo liner GLENGARRY

Built by Burmeister & Wain at Copenhagen as one of a seven ship class ordered from various yards her early life was dislocated by war and included German capture.

After repatriation she served the Glen Line trades between the east coast of the U.K., and the far east.

The class was of great technical significance and influenced all subsequent designs for Alfred Holt tonnage including several classes
depicted in this series, namely "A", "P", "M" and "Glenlyon".

In this striking portrayal GLENGARRY is seen in the early nineteen fifties entering the Port of London, with the P&O liner HIMALAYA astern,
and a Stephenson Clarke collier passing down river.
